- Let’s talk about art. Our country is world famous thanks to its artists, composers, etc. How can you prove it?
When something is extremely beautiful or has great cultural value, we say: “It’s art”. Art has always been occupation for the few, but has been admired by many.
Our country is famous for its artists and composers. There are some famous orchestras and bands in our country. They are: Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, National Concert Orchestra of Belarus led by Mikhail Finberg, Chisty Golos vocal band, Pesnyary band, Syabry band.
Music festivals are very popular in Belarus. The international arts festival Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk has become the symbol of festival movement of Belarus. Popular musicians from all over the world take part in the festival. Theatre is popular kind of arts, too. Today the country boasts of a diverse range of theatre and drama.
- Are you good at painting, dancing, and singing?
I can’t say I’m good at these kinds of art, but I like them.
My favourite art is painting. I enjoy going to art galleries to look at paintings and drawings. I think this type of art will exist forever. Artists express their feelings and emotions in their paintings. Some paintings are realistic, others are abstract. But they all have a message for those who see them.
There are some art galleries in the capital of our country, but the most famous one is the National Museum of Art.

- My niece is very good at drawing. Can you give her a piece of advice on what career to choose?
There are some professions connected with drawing. They are: an architecture, a cartoon maker, a designer and some others. It depends on her taste and interests. If she likes children she can draw pictures to books for children. If she is interested in fashion she can become a designer. If she has rich imagination she can make computer games. Such skills will be necessary for many professions.
- Are you proud of any photos you’ve taken? What makes a good photograph?
I have taken some brilliant photos when I was sad and took photos of rainy weather, but when my mood is bright I like to look at the insects and flowers, because they are bright and colorful.
