Teacher: Look at the pictures. What can you see there?

Pupils: We can see Santa Claus, reindeer, stockings, bells, presents, Christmas tree.

Teacher: What holiday will we speak about?

Pupils: We will speak about Christmas.

Teacher: When do people in Britain celebrate Christmas?

Pupils: They celebrate Christmas on December 25th.

Teacher: When do people in our country celebrate this holiday?

Pupils: We celebrate it on January 7th.

Teacher: Today at the lesson we will listen to some texts about Christmas, sing Christmas carols, read some texts about this holiday and at the end of the lesson you will write a letter to Santa Claus.

Teacher: And now let’s read a poem (p.82, ex.1) and guess the name of the man.

While the kids were playing outside,

Someone in red was taking a ride.

Can you guess who the old man was?

Teacher: How do we call Santa Claus in our country?

Pupils: Ded Moroz, Father Frost.

Teacher: Do you know any poems about snowman?

Pupils: I’m a little snowman, short and fat,

            Here is my scarf, here is my hat.

            When the sun is out, I cannot play,

             I just slowly melt away!

Hello, I`m Rudolf. I`m Santa`s chief reindeer. Look at my nose, it`s very red. I live at the North Pole with Santa for most of the year. It`s very cold there. On Christmas Eve (24<sup>th</sup> December) I help Santa take the Christmas presents to good children. WE fly through the air very fast. Santa has a big sleigh to carry all the presents. Maybe we`ll bring YOU a present!

1) «Письмо Санта Клаусу»

Now let`s write a letter. Fill in the gaps. You have 3 minutes. Who is ready? Who wants to read it aloud? Please. Now put the letters into the envelopes, the letters are written, our lesson is almost over. What was difficult for you? Try to give a mark to yourself. (дети оценивают себя, я ставлю оценки)  If you had problems with writing a letter, your hometask will be to help Tom write a letter to Santa. If you had no problems your hometask will be to make a Christmas card to your friend.

2) «Сюрприз от Санта Клауса»

Oh, sorry, this is the sound of e-mail. Kids, we`ve got a letter from Santa. Let`s look (FLASH) And here is a real letter. Santa also gave marks to you. So you`ll have 2 marks today-from me and from Santa. Are you glad? Great, Our lesson is over.  Thank you for your work, you may be free.
