Shopping is a part of our daily life. And we have to deal with it whether we like it or not. There are people who hate going shopping. So they make a list of what they need and run through stores buying the needed things. Sometimes they even don’t care about the price. And there are people who go from store to store looking for goods of better quality and lower price. They don’t worry about the time they spend shopping.
Modern technology affects people’s lifestyles and daily routine. Now we can do our shopping not only in stores or markets but also on the Internet. No doubt shopping online is more convenient and less time consuming but on the other hand buying clothes without trying them on or perfume without smelling it may not seem a good idea. My family buys only big things like TV-sets, notebooks or wardrobes on the Internet.
- Is it easy to buy a good birthday present? Why (not)?
I think it’s rather difficult to buy a birthday present. You should know tastes and needs of the person you buy present to. You should go to different kinds of shops: ready-made clothes, fabrics, sports goods, toys, china and glasses, electric appliances, cosmetics, cameras, records, souvenirs and choose the present you like the most. You should choose the present of high quality and best price.

- Foreigners like going shopping in Minsk. Advise them where to go and what to buy.
I think the best places for shopping in Minsk are its department stores: “ЦУМ”, “ГУМ”, “Nemiga”, “underground City”, “The Capital” and some others. The foreigners can buy there everything they like from food to souvenirs. I’ll advise to buy some elements of our national Belarusian clothes, the pictures of our magnetic nature, Belarusian toys and ceramic things.
- Do you agree that if you have problems, money can help you to solve them? Why (not)?
I’m among the people who consider that money is not all-powerful. We’ll never be able to buy pure love, real friendship, health or caring family. But life isn’t worth living without these things. It’s not worth living if money has become the point of it either.
